Critique Group Report

Fiction Critique Group - is now back to meeting in person at the South Miami Library, 6000 Sunset Dr, South Miami, on the fourth Saturday of the month at 9:30 AM. We have 4 members at present, one of whom corresponds via email from her new home in San Diego. This group is for fiction: novels and short stories. Work is shared electronically the week before and emailed back with comments. We try to limit lengths to about 8,000 words. At in person meetings, we sit and discuss the comments, one-on-one, in as much depth as seems appropriate, then swap partners. This means that you won't spend much time waiting while another person critiques someone else's work. Contact: Don Daniels 

Poetry Critique Group - has been meeting on Zoom with excellent results! The poem to be critiqued is shared electronically. Not only does this eliminate making copies for group members, it seems to make giving feedback easer. The Group is small and intimate and most of the time, members are able to share two poems. Non-Fiction Critique Group.  - Currently meets by Zoom for a couple of hours to discuss material submitted by email beforehand. Meetings are generally at noon every other Saturday, although exact meeting times vary according to the schedules and wishes of the members. In the past, we have had up to ten members, but we currently have seven, writing in the areas of memoir, biography, social and political activism, travel, films criticism, and biological science.
